Day 4 – Agra to Fatehpur Sikri to Bishangarh
Morning drive to Bishangarh enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri.
Fatehpur Sikri: Located 40 Km from Agra, This fort was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 is in a superb and complete state of preservation, and within the walls are palaces and the Jama Masjid. The main entrance is the 54 metre high Buland Darwaza, the Gate of Victory.
Later drive to Bishangarh. Check in at hotel.
Alila Fort Bishangarh located in Bishangarh Village 6 km off the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway. Its extraordinary combination of rugged, untouched parts of the original fort and carefully reconstructed royal residential areas recreates the truly authentic flavour.

Day 6 – Bishangarh to Dera Amer (Jaipur)
Leisurely breakfast.
Later drive to Jaipur.
Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan and owes its name, planning and foundation to the Maharaja Jai Singh II. In 1727 he decided to move from his hillside fortress at Amber to the plains, and thus Jaipur was conceived. It is also known as the “Pink City”, derived from the pink painted sandstone from which the buildings in the old walled city are constructed.

Located on the outskirts of Jaipur, set in the shadow of Amber fort, Dera Amer is a small camp in a private farm surrounded by the Aravali Hills. The habitat is rocky and semi-arid, with a mix of open scrubland. Small rural hamlets dot the area and comprise a mix of pastoral and farming families.

It was ruled by the Rajput’s and the Chauhan’s. With the arrival of Mughal era, the Rajput’s and Chauhan’s were never able to conquer it. The town also finds mention in the Mahabharata.

Morning visit to Jaisalmer Fort, which was built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156. It sits atop Trikuta Hill, commanding views across the desert landscape in all directions. Known as Sonar Quila or the Golden Fort, it seems to rise from the sand, reflecting the desert’s hues in its golden colouring. The fort is in itself a whole township that consists of a palace complex, temples, the havelis of rich merchants and the residential complexes.

Day 15 – Jodhpur to Jawai Bandh (The DAM)

Jawai Bandh is a dam built across the Jawai river, a tributary of Luni river, in Rajasthan
The dam was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur.
The idea of building a dam over River Jawai was conceived in 1903 as its flooding waters caused heavy damage during monsoon. It was finally given shape in 1946. The project was to construct a dam across the river, creation of water reservoir, which could be used for water irrigation .
Jawai is now known for its leopard sightings, bird watching. [Many migratory bird species are spotted here during winter season. [Jawai dam is also known for large crocodile population, as of 2020 there were 377 crocodiles in Jawai Dam.

Day 17 – Jodhpur to Delwara (Devigarh)
Delwara nestled in the Aravalli Range hills, is a small town about 28 kms away from Udaipur. Delwara was originally known as ‘Devkul Patan Nagri’ which means the town of god.
It boasted over 1500 temples at one time, out of which there were over 400 Jain temples. Delwara was the center of learning and culture before the 15th century AD.

Later Explore the local village including the visits to 14th Century Jain temples, which were the inspiration for the famous temples of Dilwara near Mount Abu. After breakfast, transfer to Udaipur airport to board the flight to Mumbai.
